Custer County Friends for Life Society was established in 2003 and received 501 ( c ) (3) tax status in January of 2004. The purpose of the organization is to provide a caring, safe and loving environment for abused and abandoned animals. We are devoted to adopting these animals into loving, responsible homes. Our mission also includes educating the public regarding the proper care and treatment of animals as well as the need to spay and neuter pets.
Custer County Friends for Life Society (dba Friends For Life Animal Society) built a new shelter on the south side of Clinton, OK in June of 2017. We are helping animals from Weatherford, Clinton, and the surrounding areas in western OK.
The shelter address is 290 West Commerce Rd in Clinton, OK 73601

Want to save an animal’s life?
Friends For Life Animal Society is seeking animal lovers from all over western Oklahoma to provide safe and loving homes for our rescues. Foster homes are an important parts of Friends For Life. We can only save as many dogs and cats as we have foster homes for!
What is a Foster Home?
A foster home is temporary care providing the rescue with a safe place to live while awaiting adoption. You provide all the love, hugs and kisses needed for confidence and we provide the food and approved veterinary expenses. Foster homes are also a wonderful way for a rescue to learn basic “family” skills while living with people which sets them up for success in their forever homes. Your family pets can be great role models as foster siblings. They will be showing them the ropes, providing extra love and attention, and helping with adjustment. It is like a Big Brother/Big Sister Program for animals. All vet costs are paid by Friends For Life.
Who makes a good foster parent?
YOU! Becoming a foster parent is easy. The rescues are matched up with the potential foster homes for easy transition. For example, if you work all day you would be matched up with a low maintenance animal, not a puppy. Have kids? A young energetic rescue benefits form the extra attention. The ultimate goal is to place the rescue in a forever home and an animal that has experienced “foster love” has a better chance.
